The General Data Protection Legislation now passed into UK law serves to create a harmonised data protection law framework across the EU and aims to give people back control of their personal data. Businesses and organisations alike, including the Church of Scotland and its congregations have to abide by certain rules regarding the storage and processing of any personal data which they hold. Therefore, if you are a member, adherent or otherwise involved in the life of the Church you are strongly encouraged to familiarise yourself with the following three documents which set out your rights and what you can expect as regards the collection, use and storage of your personal data.
